Just as a reminder - if you do have any questions pop up, feel free to put them here in the chat!

Do you recall the reason you started/used to excess and are those reasons the same these days or have they changed? (ex. academic stress, loneliness, peer pressure, etc.)

58:33
So, in 2022, generally speaking, would you say anxiety is the main reason students use to excess now?

01:02:53
How/when did you realize you had a problem and how did you get the help you needed?

01:03:24
Anxiety and depression is also the #1 diagnosis listed for new registrations with Accessibility Services.

01:08:51
Hello came in a little late but was curious do you know any information on pornography addiction and its effect on the brain and its similarity to the dopamine rush from substance abuse?

01:09:43
This is supposed to be focused on marijauna, havent gotten into it yet.

01:10:11
Thanks Charles, we will be getting there! Hang in!

01:12:07
Hi Christina, we can try to get you some literature on that, but yes, we do know that sexual addictions work similarly to other addictions.

01:22:23
I’ve read that prolonged use of marijuana is more damaging to the adolescent brain than to the adult brain. What do you know about that?

01:23:53
I'm going to have Bob answer this for everyone, Thanks Leslie

01:27:46
What is the difference between delta 8 and just thc?

01:34:25
For students who were able to reduce use (or stop altogether) what seemed to help them do that?

01:35:43
Anne Marie, I'd say that a lot of the time support is very important and intrinsic motivation. Students need to want to stop for them to be able to reduce or stop altogether. Our work is often to help them move into a place where they have more desire or interest in stopping or reducing on their own accord

01:36:38
When they are ready, what helps is support from family, friends and having access to services - programs that provide 'all around support' are great (individual therapy, group, access to psychiatry as needed)

01:45:03
Can you send those talking points to everyone

01:45:13
Thanks

01:45:45
Sorry came late, will the deck be shared?

01:46:15
I am not sure Steve if Bob is planning on sending the deck but we will if we can!

01:46:16
Great program and presentation.Thank you very much.

01:46:43
Thanks

01:47:44
I think what’s of most importance is having conversation about these topics because at the end of the day you cannot control their actions while they are away

01:48:24
Exactly, Christina. It's doing the best we can as parents/caregivers and the best is to have a safe space to talk about this stuff and as Bob said, give accurate information

01:50:17
Just so everyone knows, the program is being recorded today and will be shared

01:51:22
Please let us know how to access the recording. I signed on late and am sorry I missed the beginning.

01:51:25
Thank you both so very much for extending this information - so much information that should be accessible to everyone. Thank you very much for your time!

01:51:46
Thanks Leslie!

01:52:10
And for those who have other things to get to, feel free to sign off. The video will be sent to whatever email address you used to sign up today

01:53:15

01:53:25

01:53:30
